FIND YOUR SCORE RANK
Score Pickleball’s Score Rank is a system designed specifically for you! When signing up for Score Rank, players need to provide a baseline rating to begin the process of tracking their progress. This rating may be an official rating from a pro, taken directly from your DUPR profile or based on the player’s understanding of the game and their skill level, and serves as the foundation rating that will change as you continue to play and score matches in the app.
Each category represents a different level of skill and understanding of the game. The ratings are as follows:
- 2.0: New players who are just starting to learn the game. They can hit the ball back and forth but struggle with easy shots and basic rules.
- 2.5: Players who can sustain longer rallies and have a better understanding of the game’s rules. They can make most easy shots and are beginning to learn more advanced techniques.
- 3.0: Must have a consistent serve and can make all basic strokes. They are attempting more advanced techniques but may lack control.
- 3.5: Improved control and placement of the ball. They have a good understanding of strategy and can play aggressively at the non-volley zone.
- 4.0: Players who have consistent forehand and backhand strokes and can use spin with some success. They have a good understanding of strategy and can force errors from opponents.
- 4.5: Must have placement and spin mastered and can adjust their game style based on opponent strengths and weaknesses. They have a good understanding of all shot types and 3rd shot strategies.
- 5.0: This rating is for players who have mastered all shot types and strategies. They have excellent shot anticipation and placement and can force errors from opponents while limiting their own unforced errors.
Using Score Rank, players can find matches and leagues that are appropriate for their skill level, leading to more competitive games and opportunities to make lifelong connections with other passionate players. Score Rank will not affect a player’s DUPR rating, so they can continue to position themselves for tournament play while still having a recreational and club level rating in place for leagues and matches.
